the Unexpected
Newton's Cradle MK2000
Real-time physics (sort of) programming for this super Newton's cradle; this is actually a piece of technology we developed for the old flash site. It makes a nice toy, it can be quite mesmerising. There is a a calmer version too.
Globe
This is quite an old piece of tat in the shockwave file format, but we still kinda like it. You can spin the globe using the mouse, then decide where you are traveling to next...
Rethinking Clocks
This is the preliminary study for a larger work...(Warning: requires a fast connection). To keep this short: The idea is based on the observation that all of our “units” of time are cyclic. Also, that some of these are academic and make no sense out of context (second, minute, hour), but that our reliance on them is quite extreme, whilst some of our time units are clearly observable (a day, a month, a year) and (ironically) our ability to observe them in time is hampered by our reliance on the academic units. There are other works in this series (which will appear in the New Media section), they are working clocks that require the user to observe them and become familiar with them to know what time it is.
